Stampin' Up! Flowering Flourishes: Retiring Stamp Blog Hop

Good morning!  Happy to part of Amy's Inkin' Krew Retiring Stamp Set Blog Hop today.  I am featuring the Flowering Flourishes stamp set.

But, guess what?  I am also featuring some other retiring product, such as the Mosaic Textured Impressions Folder and the Florals Framelits Collection.

About This Card

To create the flourish, I used 2 markers: Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.  I colored the stamp with Crumb Cake marker and then used the Soft Suede on the flowers.

The paper used is Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, and Soft Suede. The card base is embossed with the Mosaic Textured Impressions Folder.

The flower was created with the Florals Framelits. However I did stamp the Flourish on Very Vanilla before die-cutting.

The focal panel is matted with a 1/8 inch using Soft Suede paper. Adhered with SNAIL adhesive.  Then wrapped a small piece of Tip Top Taupe ribbon on the left side.

Then adhered to the card base with SNAIL as well.  The flower is adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Did you notice...there are more flowers than what is typically with that flourish... I stamped on scrap paper (using the same Marker technique), cut them out, and adhered (with Stampin' Dimensionals).

When making this card

It's a bunch of layers but you can make this card in 10 minutes or less!
  • Card base is Soft Suede.
  • Then a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Whisper White.
  • Stamp Flowering Flourishes stamp in Soft Suede (used a Marker so that's why it appears to be different shades).
  • Same with the greeting (from the You've Got This stamp set), I used a Stampin' Write marker as I couldn't find my stamp pad! lol.
  • Adhered to card base with SNAIL Adhesive.
  • Cut a piece from the Birthday Bouquet (2 x 4) and mat it to Soft Suede.
  • Wrap Pool Party Glitter Ribbon around it. Then adhered to front panel with SNAIL Adhesive.
  • Use the inner 3 framelits in the Florals Framelits Collection.  Adhere the bottom one with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Adhere the Soft Suede flower with SNAIL Adhesive.
  • Adhere the inner most flower with a Stampin' Dimensional.
  • Add the bling (the Rhinestone Jewels) and you're done!

Totally Techniques: Faux Silk Technique

Good morning stampers!

This month's technique is called Faux Silk.  It's a really beautiful technique.  This was my first time trying this :D

Faux Silk Technique

  • You're supposed to use tissue (crepe) paper;
  • stamp on it;
  • let dry;
  • crinkle it up;
  • unfold;
  • and continue coloring/watercoloing...
  • Then adhere it to card stock (I used Whisper White paper).
  • Then adhered to the base of my card.
  • However, do you know I actually used a real tissue!!!! Can you tell? What do you think?
Today, I also brought back the "bling" with the Rhinestones!  Hmmmm....maybe I added too many?  But can there be too much "bling"? lol.

Also notice, the Flowering Flourishes stamp....it's both Pacific Point blue and Black.  I first inked it entirely in Pacific Blue, then I took the Basic Black ink pad and just inked the edges (where I wanted).  Since I was using a Clear Mount, I couldn't do the traditional "Rock n Roll" technique.

Lacey & Lovely SB5 Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday!

Saturday's are my stamping days!  I had fun today creating this one!  It took a lot of time because of all the Rhinestones (LOL) but I really do like how it came out and the blue, orange and pink accents on the gray and blank.  Don't you?

  1. So, basically I took a piece of the piece of the Neutrals Designer Series Pack and then cut it.  It is double sided so I then flipped the one side over!  So one piece of paper = two designs. Very cool!  Then adhered it to the white card base using SNAIL adhesive.
  2. Then stamp the flourish swirl using the Flowering Flourishes stamp set.  Yes, some areas I filled in with Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker!
  3. Next, cut the piece of Basic Black card stock and used the Scallop Edge, and adhered it using SNAIL adhesive.
  4. Next, added the ribbon adhering using the SNAIL and Mini Glue Dots.
  5. Next, used the Floral Frame Framelists (3rd size) to die cut the Pacific Point flower (paper from the Brights Designers Series Pack).
  6. Next, stamped the Lacely & Lovely image in Basic Black Ink.  Then used the 2nd Floral Frame (from Floral Frames Framelits) to cut it to a flower shape. Then colored one of the edges with the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker.  Next, added Rhinestones near the center, outside where you see the Button.
  7. Adhere the stamped image to the Pacific Point paper using SNAIL, then adhere the flower to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  8. Last but not least I added the Pink buttons (adhering using Mini Glue Dots) and added the Rhinestones to the centers.

Here is the supply list:
